My Car Has Decided To Have a Rest. BATTERY BOUGHT!
Having had a full day at Thorpe Park yesterday, arrived back at my car where I park down in Chertsey at 2230. The remote failed to unlock and on opening with the key, I noticed the tiny little twin red lights on the dash flickering, thought .....several thoughts.....as I was to be up at 0445 to go to work. Turned the ignition on a few times with the headlights lighting up on a low light each time and no joy with starting, nothing at all.
Big decision but had to walk home as I had not got time to sort it, and hoped to be able to go to work by cycle, getting home at 2355. Luckily no commitments this weekend, so will go on the bus in the morning to have a go, then to get recovery if she doesn't play, somewhat annoying. Had used it for several long runs early in the week, and the journey to where I parked it is about six miles, so should not have discharged. Last edited by planenut; 20th August 2018 at 07:43.. Do not buy a battery from the breakdown company! They charge about 30% more than a shop!

Can pick you up around 10.30 am tomorrow with a spare battery. (No idea how good it will be) Can take you to buy new battery if that does not work. Call me and let me know tonight.

Just seen this. I am indeed in Chertsey . I don't have a spare battery, but I do have one of those emergency starter pack thingummies that has proved itself useful numerous times by starting both my car, and my neighbours 4x4 on a good few occassions.
Peter has my number, so if needs be, give me a call and I'll meet you at the car with my box of tricks - I should be around at home all day tomorrow . Cliff
