Photobucket reduces the Ransom
I see Photobucket has reacted to the global condemnation of their $500 ransom by allowing free use of their service with a new PB watermark (or watermark free at $5 per month). I presume this is reterospective, so all HowTos, etc. that had ransom message blocker should now be back to 'normal'. I haven't checked this personally, but it'll be interesting to watch developments. I suspect, however, they've lost a great number of accounts they'll not get back.

They can keep it now, there are so many free alternatives with no ads or no watermark, as you say they have lost a massive amount of users.

Shut down my PB account as soon a as the ransom note was issued and moved to Imgur.
Far better in every respect - just wish I had seen them first. I wouldn't go back to PB even if they started paying me. |

The underlying point is, are the ransomed HowTos now OK?

Just looked at this thread on my PC using Edge (which doesn't have any Photobucket extensions installed) and all photos showed up OK, so hopefully it's a yes .

It's funny I use photobucket and have never had problems with it. I can post on here like the other day through photobucket all the time 🤔.

Yes, the ransom seems to have been somewhat inconsistant.
I've disabled my Firefox Fix and things appear to be 'normal'. TC |
