Will these fit?
Has anybody tried these speakers or knows if they will fit the front doors without too much modification ?

A - They'll be ****
B - They wont fit. The mounting bracket is designed for 6.5" speakers, so a 5.25" will just fall straight through. What are you after, an upgrade or has one of your speakers blown? EDIT - you could fit them if you made a 6.5"->5.25" adaptor out of wood. But I wouldn't waste time or money on it. |

Cheers for that but now i have had another look at the pic i have realised its 2 speakers side by side and not on figure of 8 shaped speaker as is fitted to the front doors DOHHH such an idiot sometimes. The reason i was looking is that I think my highline sounds naff, the speakers distort when you crank the volume up a bit so I was on the lookout for something slightly better especially as I am concidering getting a DD which as I understand, has a bigger output.

You can get speakers that might more accurately fill the whole in the door (6x9's) but I would *not* recommend them.
My suggestion is to get some 6.5" midbass drivers (i.e. a component set where the tweeter is separate, but just the 6.5" driver). They sell for very little on eBay as they arent "complete", but you can't use many tweeters in the OE spots anyway. I got a pair of £100 Focals for £30 this way, or £130 Rainbows for £50... EDIT - Or the HK door speakers, if you like OE. |
