Default Erratic boot locking

When I unlock the boot, either with the key or the release pad by the drivers door the lock unlocks and locks rapidly about 5-10 times before stopping. Sometimes it stops in the unlock position, sometimes locked, which means try again!
Anyone else experienced this? If so did you find a solution?

Thanks for reading

try adjusting the screw in - out rubber stops on the boot lid, it will be them not allowing it to close properly..

Makes sense with stiffer rubber and contracted metal

Turn the rubber stoppers half a turn anti clockwise, also rub the boot seal with silicone spray on a cloth, this will stop it sticking when its freezing.

the half a turn anti clockwise stopped my boot from 'machine gunning'...one of the easier fixes!! easier than the boot leak!

Frosty mornings will give rise to machine gunning quite often this time of year, my ZT always suffers from this, but once warmed up all is fine.
