Default Nice touches to our cars

I noticed one of those 'nice touches' the other day... Well, rather swmbo noticed it but I never knew about it until now.

This particular feature is the grab-handles above the doors - they don't just spring back and whack the roof, they are damped and move back in a controlled fashion. Which is very very nice, in my opinion.

Anyone else notice any of these 'nice touches' ?

My wifes Passat also has the same feature on the grab handles. Sadly the only feature to come close to the quality of my 75. Dont tell her I said that.

Its a shame that the sun visors don't do the same thing. They do just spring back and whack the roof.

Regards

Years back when I was teaching EFL in Southampton a German (adult) student was being very complimentary about the city centre....'why is it all so new?' he asked. is reply....'oh, sorry about that'.........a lovely lovely chap he was....

On topic...nice touch? The way the headlights 'blink' when you switch them on.

What about pressing the trip reset without the ignition on to check miles or fuel remaining. It's the little things that make the difference. That's what my wife tells me anyway.

That's another one I didn't know about. I wonder how many other secrets these cars hide from us without us realising it!

What about the way the head gasket automatically self destructs at 15K on 1.8 K series engined cars. Clever that........
