Performance figures of a 160 remap
Hi.
I'm just curious more than anything else but what is the official 0 to 60 with a remapped diesel. My auto seems pretty quick and surprises quite a few drivers when driven in anger but I wonder what the actual figures are. I think the engine performs best though between 40 mph and 70. It really flys between these speeds.. Any ideas out there ??

Pushing a remapped diesel hard from a standing start is a bad idea, too much torque applied sudenly when stationary can break things innit....
40 to 70 is a far better test from the cars point of view. Figures would be nice, and of interest to a lot of us innit... ... |

I clocked 11.75 for an auto saloon, and a little more for the estate....
not too bad for 2t of rolling comfort...

Hi James.
Nice to meet you and your good Lady the other week. As you say flooring a remapped diesel from standstill is not a good idea but I was just curious as to what figures it would be. Do you think 10 seconds for an auto is a little to optimistic ?

Very. In fact I'll not try mine now - i've done over 60k on the current clutch and think it'll be time for a new one next year, although it recovered well from diesel fuel ingress while the HP pump was leaking I'm sure it's still slipping a bit if I floor it in third at about 2000 revs. Wouldn't like to to gun it through all the gears from the lights, clutch slip would probably cost a couple of seconds anyway. Maybe with a brand new clutch next year might take it to the rwyb at the Pod.

I know my auto box hates full throttle quickly after the remap and has caused some issues already in the past regarding this. So with a 160 remapped auto I would be careful of doing a 0-60 test!

So is there any point or gain in having the remap if it can cause complications to gearboxes,. Tom.
