The 'Interchangeable Parts Thread'
After an excellent discovery by milosnikolic a while back about Inner and Outer Tie rods being the same as those of the VW Sharan & Ford Galaxy, a suggestion was put forward by Greendiver to have a seperate section for reference as parts become harder to find.
So this sticky is just for that If you know of any items that are interchangeable with other vehicles, post them up here and we can build up a good list. Lets start where the idea began with: INFO: Inner + Outer Tie rods - Can Use VW Sharan & Ford Galaxy Parts |

The later 'BMW square box' type ultrasonic interior alarm sensor is the same as on BMW E38, E39 and E46 models - note that some of those have a wider box but the sensor inside is the same. I cannot be sure about the colour match of the box though.
Most wiring connectors I believe are the same as BMW items, which may be useful if you wish to source spares from a scrapyard etc. |

Remember that a lot of Rover parts can also be replaced with Land Rover ones, stick an L at the end of the part number to see if there is an equivalent and usually cheaper LR part.

The Freelander TD4 slave cylinder is suitable for all 75/ZT engines, though the hydraulic pipes may have to be re-shaped or swapped as preferred.

'Original' type (front) has plastic end fittings & clips onto the 'spigot' in the filter cap. The combined assembly is then screwed into place. Freelander type (rear) is same overall length but 'all filter' - it drops into the housing & just gets held in place by the cap instead. Here is a comparison pic: I must admit the 'original' type seems better engineered to me - are any still like this or has all production switched over to the (presumably cheaper) 'all filter' style?
