![]() Hi,
Can the Rover sign on a mk2 steering wheel cover be changed? I think it looks a bit cheap and want to upgrade this, but I am not sure if this is safe to do because of the airbaig? Thanks, Emiel

![]() Marinabrian did this a few years ago, it involves drilling out the rivets on the airbag then replacing when the badge is swapped over (IIRC Brian fitted a Rover 25/45 Badge)

![]() Can't a Mk1 airbag be fitted? A much nicer badge. You can recolour one if needed.

![]() Thanks to you all for responding! So, it would not be wise to just cover the existing badge with some sort of sticker? Do I understand correctly this could cause the airbag not functioning fully in case of emergency?

![]() Just be aware that there are two different systems in our cars. The earlier Temic and later Autoliv, change roughly 2002/3. I have no idea if a Temic airbag would work on your later Autoliv system but MarinaBrian's drilling of the rivets (and presumably swopping the airbag) would suggest incompatibility.
