Default Dash vents, can anyone clarify!?

looking here:-

http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID001836

Specifically item 7, why two different part numbers? I thought all the plastic vents where the same and remained unchanged?

Item 9 too, looks like the same part, two different part numbers separated by what seems to be the facelift change over.

I thought that all the vents were identical, is there something I am missing?!

Different vents for different years, the early cars fitted 'flush' whereas the later ones had a gap around them.

I thought that was cos of the real wood dash? So can the early vents be fitted to a later dash and have no gap?

I have seen some vents which have the white dots, and others do not, so I suspect that explains the difference in part numbers, but I may be wrong.

The white dots disappeared around the introduction of the facelift models, otherwise the vents are the same.

So if I want to replace a Rhodium mk1 dash with a later technical grey one, I will have to buy a bunch of "newer mk2" vents?
