Underbonnet cleanliness ?
After reading some posts last week about detailing the engine bay, and with a 3 for 2 offer on Autoglym stuff at Halfords: I went wild...
Opened the bonnet today after a giving the car a quick wash to see how it had got on with the tyre dressing. I'm quite impressed with the results, what do you guys think? (it'll be all new shiny bolts next ...)

Looks good.
Needs a bit more work on the slam panel, alloy engine mount and air con pipes. Have a look at Cliffs [Teflon] engine bay to see how far we all have to go to reach near perfection. Dave T |

I think you mean header tank? I won't be going that far.

looks good.as for the bolts i went to my local engineering supplier i think i did the lot including some of trikey for around £12 makes a nice cosmectic improvement.and shows you care about the car in my opinion.so many times i have seen cars for sale that gleam on the outside only to see a underbonnet area that looks like a dogs dinner.puts me off but thats me

I just sprayed mine with Simoniz Satin Black Aerosol - just masked it off, no need for removal. (Actually the same paint that I used on the Grille).
And Bob, I've been using Autoglym's Vinyl & Rubber spray for years - I told you ages ago aswell.... I think it looks much better black! What do you think...?

I'm never gonna get to the standard of Teflon's engine bay, I'm going to settle for not being embarrased to open the bonnet at a club meet.
