Default Diagnose fuel problems

Ok folks i did post a thread not too long ago regarding an issue i seem to be having which can involve car cutting out. I suspect a fuel prob as car also seems to hesitate at times during acceleration. I have lifted the rear seat today to try and hear the fuel pump but only pump i can audidably hear is the one under the bonnet which can be heard even with bonnet shut. I cant hear anything from in the tank but would i be able to anyway im not sure how the fuel systems work for priming on the 75.

Thanks
