Door Lock Faulty
My driver's door lock will lock with the remote, but will not re-open without using the key. I read somewhere that this lock is shared with a much cheaper Land Rover item. Can anyone confirm this?
Many thanks 😊 |

I think you need a new motor in the lock itself. There are two, but the motor that opens it has gone to sleep. Had to fit three to my two cars. Two front drivers side, and a rear drivers side. Now need one for the passenger side front on the 2.5 Connie.

Thanks, I already have a used nearside rear door motor, which I bought years ago when the lock failed. It suddenly resurrected itself, so I didn't bother to fit it. You could buy used ones very cheaply back then, but they are very expensive now. Could I cannibalise the spare one for its motors, or are they tamper proofed/non interchangeable?
Does anyone have a driver's door lock available at reasonable cost? Many thanks! |

Speaking of which, it is possible to fit R50 Mini door lock actuators to the 75. For the driver's side front, they're part number 0556767. When I did this previously, I did have to change a couple of bits over from the broken 75 one. The door pin is obviously different as is the cable for the interior door handle release. There is also a star shaped piece that interfaces with the "dog bone" for the manual key locking, the Mini version had a looser fit than the 75 so I swapped that over too.

I've got EXACTLY the same issue with mine.
Unfortunately It's always seems to be either raining when I'm not at work, or I'm ill or I'm needed to do something else, so I've been putting up with it for over 6 months now! Plus I've been told it's not a nice job to strip the door card off and have a look what's going on. If you get yours fixed let me know what you needed please! Richard

Evening
Are we not jumping ahead with the faulty door lock diagnoses? My remotes (plural) would only lock the doors. It's turned out the unlock microswitches in the fobs were FUBARed. My local car key guy fixed them for £15 each and they now work perfectly. |

Hello again,
I omitted the link from my post #8. This will help you when, or if, you have to strip the door: https://the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/s...d.php?t=316595 Derek. |
