In many cases councils aren't scrupulous, they're chancers, especially when it involves parking.

I can't sit still while a bureaucrat flouts their remit and offers faulty evidence which changes common law. Government officers, even in council offices, should observe their remit and do their thing properly. I've escalated. At least, in my opinion I have.
My finger nails are currently 1mm long.

Did anyone try your parking space? I read that this is an online parking marketplace where you can pre-book and save on parking spaces across the UK. But before using it, I'd like to find out about real people's experiences.

Council authorities are increasing parking charges this month by a whopping 60% They made almost £2billion in 2022-23.
https://www.transport-network.co.uk/...-top-2bn/19246 "Faced with soaring debts and limits on the amount by which they can raise council tax, local authorities will this month increase parking charges again, by as much as 60%."

Last year I exceeded the free parking time allowed at South Mimms Service Station by 10 - 15 minutes and was fined. The fine was reduced to £60 if paid immediately, a painful lesson. |

We were recently given a ‘blue badge’ to display when parking but it doesn’t apply to all charging car parks, so caution is required. Fortunately, many parks have designated bays and sometimes it’s possible to find a toll-free place.
BUT, if shopping centres can provide free parking then why do hospitals charge? Oh, of course, that’s the ‘free’ arm of the NHS.

Ah yes, my apologies, I had forgotten about that little matter. I seem to be forgetting rather too much these days, must be something I ate.
I just happen to know a formidable solicitor who came to my rescue. The former owner of my car as it happens! His advice was guarded as one might expect and of course he was very pleased to help. A short but pointed note regarding specific points of law, and where to find them, together with the likelihood of costs, was followed by the threat being withdrawn. Oddly, lacking an apology. Hey ho. Thanks for reminding me Arctic!
