K Bus
Hi all, I'm having a few problems with my highline unit. I have the HK with Sat Nav and TV etc. The head unit won't power up.
1st question: Could someone confirm that the white connector is for the power/earth etc and the blue connector is for the video wires? When I looked at the electrical reference library this was the case but the covers were the other way around (so I swapped them and plugged then into the head unit.) 2nd question: I have a permenant live, and ignition live and a good earth to the correct pins on the connector. I have not, however, got any voltage to the K-Bus pin (pin 7). Would this stop the unit from powering up? There is nothing whatsoever. Not even an LED or the little orange triangle. Thanks in advance! Regards, Ross |

No voltage on the k-bus wire will stop it from working.

Thanks Phil. Where could you suggest I check? I though maybe thevideo module and audio module in the boot as there are signs of water ingress. Is it true that if I do a battery reset then the K Bus will reset itself amd let me use it once until the engine is started? Do you know about the connector colour? Thanks again mate.

On the facelift loom its probably corroded under the carpet around the centre console and drivers seat, MGRovers usual wiring job, clamp 3 wires together and put blue tape around them, any dampness gets in and corrodes the wires!
The white connector is for video and blue is for power etc at the head unit end but these colours swap over at the video unit end, so the video is in the blue connector. HTH |
