Default Zt turbo not starting:(

Hi guys how are u all? My mate has a zt turbo 1.8, the coolant hose blew off 3 days ago, it's the one in the centre of the rad going down, he put it back on with new clip, he put water in it and started it up, and it ran fine, the next day he checked the water and topped it up then started it and it ran fine, although he never took it for a drive, the third day he went to start it and it just turns over but does not fire, what couldv caused the blow off? And any ideas of y not starting, could the pump have collapsed? All I did was disconnect battery for a while and tried again, still the same, any ideas or checks I can do, cams are turning, not really a smell of petrol around manifolds etc, engine turning quite fast maybe no comp, cheers

Sorted I think, fuel filter ok, pulled fuel pump fuse out was ok, hey presto, starts every time, must have been corrosion on fuse Anyway all back together but notice a pipe broken off the bottom of that fuel/air evaporater thing that ticks away beside battery, what's is the correct name for it so I can send him to get one, thanks again everyone,
