Default fuel problem?

My daughters rover 75 diesel 2001 recently was towed in by the RAC who said it was a fuel problem but did not no what was causing it. She stopped the car after going into town with no apparent problems prior and when she returned to it it would not start. A mobile mechanic diagnosed the problem as one injector leaking back and the high pressure diesel pump with low pressure. These have been replaced but it still will not start any ideas?

When i had similar issues it was the under bonnet pump by the battery box that was not working.

try giving the under bonnet pump a light tap it may get the car running again, make sure theres plenty of diesel in the tank, you will find the pump just down from the fuel filter on the LH side of the engine near the battery as your in Tamworth click on the Wolverhampton link in my signature can you get the car to the next nano?

Default fuel problem ?

Thank you for your promt replies Mark and Mike.
The under bonnet pump is working and so is the tank pump, i have also tried the crank and cam sensor off my own car to no avail. There is plenty of fuel at the injector rail and no signs of any leaks on the system also i have visually checked the ECM for corrosion and water ingress and this appears to be ok. It will start on easy start but immediately cuts out and will not restart. Any further thoughts?

You could try checking the ECU for any signs of previous water damage. How about swapping the LP and HP pressure sensors over from your car - one at a time of course.

If an injector was leaking you were bound to get a low pressure in the common rail, so why change the main HP pump?????

Sounds like you still have a leaking injector..
