Default Brake lights stay on!!

When I put the key on ignition stand i get in the display BULB FAILURE
No bulbs are broken.
After that a big lamp stay in the display and my brake lights keeps burning!!!
What can it be????
please help!!!!!

Hi Steve,

I believe that if one of your sidelights blows or stops working, your brake light will step in as a substitute until you can get the bulb replaced. Another fantastic idea from those boffs at MG Rover. I would replace the sidelight bulb that your told has failed anyway even if it doesn't look broken to definitely rule that out. If the problem still persists, you then know it must be some kind of connection problem which I am sure someone will be along an advise shortly.

Change both brake light bulbs and normal service should be resumed

A relais under the hood was broken.
