Default Orange clip

Hi.. I have today been looking at this orange clip issue.. Havin bought one then trying to find how to fit it to my mg zt 190+. It seems it only fits on 180 models.. I may be wrong but when I opened my fuel pump it looked completely different to ones I've seen with orange clip fitted.. If you find I'm wrong please let me know.. Cheers mundrix

The orange clip lives on the filter which is the passenger side (RHD) of the fuel tank. Not all filters need the clip as the design was changed. Search on FOC as there's loads of info on it

The earlier (FFS-free) filter unit has a couple of loops moulded into the top. They stand vertically and can't be missed when you take off the inspection hatch under the rear seat. These filters don't separate so there's no FFS issue nor any need for the FOC.

The change-over seems to be late 2001 / early 2002 if this helps

See the picture in post #31 of this thread :

If yours has the two loops on top ,as T-Cut said, then you don't need the clip. Mine is Sept 2001 and doesn't need it so I suspect you are ok as well
