Anyone can see your registration and note it down whenever you drive or park.
The only way to stop it is to cover part of your number plate up,
which will attract the attentions of the law, quite rightly (or keep your car in a locked garage).

Purely my opinion, not wishing to cause offence.

At least our cars are rare enough and diverse enough to make it harder to find a match. Should think it's really easy to clone a BMW or an Audi. You've only got 2 or 3 colours to choose from.

The only problem I can see with it is if you've told someone you're going to be somewhere else. That's why I carry another set off plates in the wheel well.

(Only joking, officer)

My 75 was purchased recently prior to me collecting it the previous owner had transferred his cherished number, however rather than replacing the rear 'D' plate he put an oblong one directly over the top.
As I am awaiting my cherished number, I was not prepared to change the rear plate.
Well the obvious happened, the rear view mirror filled with blue strobes and flashing headlights, the following conversation of .... pc "good afternoon sir" me "don't tell me, the number plate" pc " yes it's erm" me " it's an oblong one stuck over an old cherished number, not changing it till my number arrives"
" I have ID on me etc....would you like a look" pc " No sir you're fine.... no need, nice car, 1st time I have stopped one of these....." a brief conversation about dying breeds and quality took place and one happy pc (with a not so happy wpc probably thinking 'here they go talking cars' turned off the blues and left with a big smile.

Not the first time I've heard that any excuse has been used to stop a car just because the officer likes it lol

I know a similar one in the days of SD1's of a traffic car pulling up alongside Side a fairly quick motor and drag racing him down the A1 diring the early hours of the morning, in the days when there was lots of roundabout's
😎
