CDT needs a 'kick up the backside'
Hello all,
I have been on the forum for a while but I am quite new to this posting lark, more of a reader and getting tips. I would like some advice about getting my 2.0 CDT 75 remapped and the diagnostic check to look for faults done. I want this done because the car only really plods along, only 30mpg (around townish) and although the car was fantastic driving through France in the summer, it could be so much more. What also needs sorting is, when the accelerator is pushed down from moving slowly for quick acceleration the car decides to have a jolly good think about it if it really is necessary before realising I am right and picking up speed to move away. Does anybody know of other members on here in the North Kent area that specialise in these and are recommended by people on here? I have read of other members taking their cars to members on here who remap but they are either in Wales or the North East and really to far to ravel. Your help and advice will be appreciated, Richard Last edited by Dragrad; 24th September 2013 at 22:34.. Reason: Contravention of Club Rules - FAQ Rule 2 |

I think the nearest T4 guy is Phil-T4 who is Milton Keynes way so still a distance but it is well worth booking a day to go visit him. I have also read there will be T4 and remapsmat the upcoming New Foreat meet. Make the time for this essential mod, you won't regret it |

The 160bhp remap completely transforms the car. It is worth every single penny and double the amount again. Mine really came alive when I fitted my EGR bypass. It gave the same symptoms as yours prior to this.

Some of the gurus do a postal service, send them your ecu and they will remap it and send it back, obviously you don't get a health check when you do it this way.

Correct me if im wrong but I think you need an in specification original Bosch MAFF to get best out of re-map. I would check MAFF first, perhaps unplug yours and note if it improves performance.
If you find running with MAFF unplugged is better, you need a new MAFF. Ebay cheap jobbies are a waste of time. I got a Bosch on ebay shipped from Germany, cant remember sellers name but i think it was mentioned on here £125 delivered. I know it seems a big expense but it is the best way to go, once you have working MAFF then it is time to get the remap and you will love your car more. As mentioned I went down this route but have not got remap yet as im nursing clutch 146000 and still original. I hope to change clutch in next few months then I will be beating a path to T4 guru. |

Many thanks for all the replies.
Following on from this, is it best to change the maf first before the remap? and is the "ROVER 75 2.0TD TURBO DIESEL EGR REMOVAL KIT" on ebay that was mentioned in a reply a good mod'? Does it really make a difference? Can both these things be changed easily or is it best to go to a garage? The "T4 guy Phil-T4 who is Milton Keynes" that was mentioned in the first reply, is that a person on this forum, are they the best people to get a remap from? My car skills revolve around changing oil and plugs but not much else and I am not really a mechanic, so things need to be very easy for me to do. I am new to these cars, so sorry about all the questions. Any advice is always welcome. Richard |

Send marinabrian or bigruss a PM, they are the only ones that can do the 160 remap.
