We've now found out how to attach the phone to the PC in such a way as to appear as a drive in My Computer, and should now be able to get Recuva to work! I've tested it on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Note) and it seems to work, so fingers crossed for Gill's

(can't report success or not yet, as despite me suggesting she should get on with it, she keeps putting it off However, as the phone is off, it shouldn't be at risk of overwriting anything....)

Hi I may be able to help you with this.
In the early days of digital photography I wrote a photo recovery program.
I still have the code and program on my old PC.
This was before camera phones but If your phone is showing as a drive you should be fine.
PM me and we should be able to work out the way forward.
Avoid storing more data on the memory if at all possible as the deletion has made the memory areas where the photos resided 'available' to the sytem for storage.

Thanks Brian!

I am going to sit her in front of her PC and get her to try Recuva again this morning - with dire warnings of what could happen if she leaves it too long!
