Default Suddenly no sound

Hi,

I have just had this weird problem, speakers went silent out of nowhere in the middle of the song. I turned off the ignition, turned back on - seemed fine, was playing again. After I stopped at petrol station and started the car again, there was no sound from speakers. The unit I have is Alpine ida-x100, and Alpine speakers. I have checked all the connections, fuses, even connected another working unit - still no sound.. Any ideas ?? Really hate driving in silence..

I would check the mute wire (which mutes the stereo volume when you are using a phone etc)... it may be shorting out.

I presume also that when it does this you try other inputs other than the one that is playing, ie. try Radio if Disc is playing...

Thanks for suggestions. I have checked all the cables, fuses, even disassembled door panels and double checked all the speakers. Tried other stereo that I know is working perfectly, still no luck. Strange thing happened this morning, as I started the car I could hear the music for like 1-2sec and then it went silent again, at the same time airbag light popped on, which has never happened before.. As I restarted the engine, light was off, like usual. I check plenums regularly, no leaves, they're dry, so can't be ecu..? For it seems like I've caught some crazy electrical ghost, that tries to annoy me
