MP3 format
Hi Techies, I have ripped a load of my CD's to my PC put them onto a sd card for my DD Unit, however stupidly I have not ripped them to MP3 so they are not picked up by the player,
Can anyone recommend a Free Audio converter to change files to Mp3

try this one.
http://www.maniactools.com/soft/m4a-...er/index.shtml but tbh you may be best off converting them all to mp3 from scratch. reason being, the more you convert the more you lose on quality. when installing keep a look at what you click ok to, as a lot of free ware will ask fo install toolbars and stuff. if it asks to you just click no and carry on.

Defo - do it again - convert direct to MP3 and try to get quality as good as or greater than 256kb/sec for best sound quality

Yes re-rip them, you can use variable bit rate encoding for slightly smaller file size. Stick it at 320 kbps.
