Well the bug that I thought I'd shifted last week, came back with gusto last night!

Had trouble getting to sleep till after midnight, only to be woken up at about quarter to two, barely being able to breathe and to be honest, had a bit of a panic about it!

Ended up getting up and going downstairs to get a throat lozenge, which did the trick, but by that time was wide awake!

So ended up turning the computer back on and went on line till about 2.30, which at that point went back to bed only for Mrs D to wake me up again at about 4 o'clock!

Been taking Lemsip Max every 4 hours, but still feel like absolute poo, with headache, cough and streaming nose!

Just spent a couple of hours in bed (which I NEVER do) and still feel dreadful, suppose I better watch a bit of telly, otherwise I won't sleep tonight, but apparently, there's a lot of this about at the moment!

You'd be in good company here Mark - both daughter and I had bugs over Christmas/New Year - got rid of them mid January - got 'em back again early February. Daughter has been to Doctors today - bronchitis, plus an infection in her sinuses for good measure
Apparently 50% of the kids at the school where she teaches are absent with similar bugs - my mother would have blamed it all on the lack of cold weather this Winter to kill the germs

Join the club Mark, Lemsip is helping me but I find the stuff tastes disgusting, have to sweeten it with honey or have a coffee chaser. Got Covonia lozenges today, they're not bad. My biggest problem is the cough, in the morning it's very much a deep chesty cough but then it changes to a dry tickle at the back of the throat. My wife got it a lot worse than me, she ended up on high dose, short course, steroids and a course of antibiotics.

Was it just me or did the forum just nip out for a coffee for a few minutes?

Yes - I think it had a wobbler for a few seconds Steve - mind you my broadband (Virgin Media 30mbps) slows down dramatically (to about 5 mbps !) between 4.00pm and approx. 6.00pm. - reputedly down to the amount of traffic with kids home from school
