Default Oil leak

My 03 cdti Tourer has decided to mark it's territory on the drive. It's never dropped anything before. Took it to my garage and it's coming from the dipstick. He says there's an oil filter thingy which is blocked and needs replacing. He took dipstick out and started the car and oil flew out like Vesuvius. He said that was not good and needs doing asap.

Does that sound correct oh learned peeps.

If you're going to change it, just be careful of the injector cap spring clips. I think just the one needs removing to lift the PCV filter cover. Not worth trying to jiggle the cover free. Use long nose pliers (radio pliers) and grip the clip tight, slide it out and put somewhere safe.
