. Any kind of simple 555 circuit would do. Unfortunately my easy access to components is somewhat limited, so this kit is a much easier option for me.

yes, I would have thought the 66232 was more likely (98), '99 and 00. It seems a real advantage of the earlier one. (that, along with the summer cool down facility)

Thanks for the info. Am I correct in thinking that the FBH automatically comes on under a certain temp so in essence making it a parking heater is just a bonus?

IIRC, the specs for FBH fire-up are something like below 5 degrees outside temp and if the coolant is less than 60 degrees. The parking heater may be a bonus but IMHO it is a shame not to have the PH if the FBH is already fitted.

The advantage of the PH mode is that you can have the care nice and warm before you even start the engine. Some of us diesel sniffers take our comfort seriously |

Paul the earlier FBH firmware works properly ATC comes on after a few minutes once the water is warm enough, nothing stopping you putting you own thermostat in though in series with pin 4
In fact if you bought a kenlowe kit and wired it up using the oem control box as in my Howto you would then have a spare thermostat for the FBH! |

I'm guessing that you mean that mine is not early enough to have this function? Is pin 4 where the box of tricks you built for me gets the instruction to run the interior heater? |

Not to cut across Keith - Pin 4 on the 6 pin plug is the ATC output. I believe all variants use pin 4 for this function.

Cheers Eammon
I was just trying to confirm that pin 4 was what Keith used in my setup. I should really get a circuit diagram of it and paste it into my manual |
