Rear window

Hi all,

My drivers side rear window is very slow to close. It takes twice as long as the others.

Easy repair/swap?

May just be dirty / badly adjusted runners, cables need some oil or the motor may be tired....

About an hour to strip out and service / replace the motor...
Look at traders or ebay for a motor...

Get some silicone spray, and spray down the runner guides. Then run the window up and down a few times to lubricate. That usually solves it for me.

If that does not fix it, then it could be that the motor is on the way out.... a bit rare I would have thought.....

Is halfords the place to go for silicon spray?

Make sure it's silicone oil spray, not silicone polish spray. Any electronics supplier should have it. Failing that you can get small pots of silicone grease from a builders merchant which takes a bit longer but will do the same job.

Also available on e-bay at reasonable prices if you shop around. Do not know whether Halfords do it, but any automotive shop should stock it. As said above do not get the polish version

LED bulbs fitted throughout, inc glove box and Numberplate, Flipkey, rear parking sensors, rear offside cubby hole cover, 2x extra LED ambient lights in tourer boot, ultimate remote, walnut gear knob, Walnut steering wheel, in-line stat, illuminated sun visors, load cover with dog guard, extra aux and USB sockets in armrest.
