Just thought I'd let you know that our very own Jules came and collected the car today.I gave it one final run round the block, what a wonderfully refined car it is.He's just text me to say what a lovely example it is, after a 2 hour drive. Some much more special and refined than my 54 plate replacement.
So glad it's in great hands, and I've told him I may buy it back when it's repaired!

Excellent news that it's gone to a good home, and well done, on going to the trouble of selling it on to another enthusiast!

It's strange Andy, you and me both had the same problem. My 190 also had a pressure problem? after owning it for 10 years, my longest ownership of any car by a mile. Knowing I needed the heads off to sort the problem, it was due cambelts + a full set of tyres and my wife complaining that her knee problems required a higher seated vehicle she had to go I do hope to get another as a project as I have had 15 years of 75s / ZTs. Now the proud?? owner of an XTrail but at least the wife is not needing to be hauled out at every high kerb.
I PXd mine for £500 as I didn't want a member harrassing me if the problems turned out terminal.

Is it me or not, that I am confused that the engine had a build up of pressure, yet has been driven for two hours presumably back to Jules place or did you have to stop on the way to keep topping up the water Or. have I misunderstood
