Default Outside temp sensor question

It would appear that my outside temp sensor is on the blink, it's reading between 8 and 10 degrees too high.

My question is, could this be the reason for erratic heater performance?

The engine gets up to temp as normal, but I've only been doing short journeys for a week, and all I've been getting is cool air from the vents, so I thought blocked matrix.

But on a longer journey yesterday, suddenly everything sprang into life, and toasty toes were the order of the day

I've ordered a new sensor, and will fit asap, just wondered if that could affect the heating?

Default

Sometimes it can be high resistance due to oxidisation of the wires inside the sheathing immediately after the plug that fits onto the sensor.

The fix is strip and reconnect with good clean wire.

Or, it could just be a sensor
