Yosemite
I upgraded from OS Mavericks to OS Yosemite last week on the laptop. All was well until today, when I inserted an SD card into the on board card reader. No sign of it being mounted on the desktop or in the finder side bar. I wanted to upload photos for editing.
Prior to the upgrade, the reader worked fine. I went to the Apple support forums but could not find a fix. Anyone come across this problem? Thanks |

I downloaded the driver, but Apple would not let me open it. A message came up saying the file was not from the App Store, was third party and could not be opened. |

To be able to open software that is not from App Store, after trying to open in and getting the message you describe goto System Preferences>Security And Privacy you will see a button to be able to open the App (or you can change preferences to be able to open Apps from anywhere if you wish.
