Default Boot release switch

I was opening the boot of a vauxhall corsa today, using the boot release switch.
As you know, the key hole for the boot was removed as part of project drive.
How easy/difficult would it be to add anew external boot release switch? I was thinking it could link into the central locking system attached to the filler cap cover.
I was wondering if I could take a live feed from somewhere and have it switch on by the solenoid in the filler cap cover, thus enabling the switch.

The 'external boot release' for project drive cars, is to press and hold the unlock button on the key.

The idea was from a vauxhall, but was thinking of applying it to my R75.

I know I can open it by using the key, but it is quite handy being able to open the boot without the key or having to open the drivers door.

The problem with that would be, every time you unlocked the car, if you didn't want the boot open, you would have to go round and close it.

Sorry - I've probably not explained myself very well.

I could mound a switch above the licence plate and connect it to the drivers side boot release (or even direct to the lock itself, but I don't want it to be operational all of the time (i.e. if my car is locked, I don't want anybody to be able to open the boot).
Connecting the switch to the central locking system is the solution, so that it only works when the car itself it unlocked - but the question is "how".

This is why I was thinking of linking it to the filler cap cover in some way - once the car is unlocked, power goes to the swtich and I can open the boot by using the switch. When the car is locked again, the power is cut and the switch no longer works.

Take a supply from the front door pillar switch. This is NOT live when the car is locked so the boot switch won't be live either.

That's a much better idea... didn't realise that these went dead when the doors were locked.

If you can find a door pillar switch, I would be grateful for a photo of it!
Thinks it may be found inside the door mechanism.......
