hi all, update, Rod did get me one and it works brilliantly!
Needed to tow a trailer with car on over weekend, just slotted tow bar in and hey presto, dragged a large trailer and track car 320 miles over a morning, got home and just removed bar, put in bag and now back in boot.....just perfect! all I will say is keep hunting if you need one as they are out there!

You don't need a key.
I've an OEM detachable and removed the key lock works fine. http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...22&postcount=2

thanks Wullie, I read your part about punching the lock out but had been wondering if anyone had been able to get a key.
I will probably end up doing as you suggest

I have a complete towbar for sale but I suppose you don't want the whole thing?
