Default Argghh! Nothing is ever simple! Help needed for BM54BACK

Hi guys.

I thought I had done well to pick up a cheap XQC000240 genuine BM54BACK with Rover stickers.

I tried it with the original bracket on the car, no go, too small. Then found a YWU000420 online and bought that "new".

Upon comparing it to the original bracket on the car, its EXACTLY the same size, despite having a flaming YWU000420 sticker on it! (it was definitely used though).

Can anyone with any experience of this, tell me for CERTAIN what the new bracket was that fitted the XQC000240 later tuners?

It should be a good few mm wider than the older one... Im thinking this part was mis-labelled.

Does anyone have a later/bigger older one they wish to sell?!

Well the original one is nice and loose, just slips in a treat. This XQC000240 is a tight fit from the start, then only gets so far before the main body is just about 1mm too wide and the corner catches and no amount of forcing would ever make it go in!

So frustrating!

So whats the wider bracket then? YWU000420 or YWU000230?!!

I had exactly the same issue fitting a BM54 to the ZT-T. In the end I cut though the spot welds on the front of the bracket to open it up. Slipped the unit in and secured with long cable ties. YMMV 😀
