The only way to solve the non working fan problem is to replace the fan unit etc
Remove the bumper and bits and fit a new fan assembly. Unfortunately the old unit if the car has done 60k or so will be nickered.Plenty of how to's are listed as to how to take bumper off and change the fan unit, done it myself.

I've seen where people do a re-wire and eliminate the low speed motor brushes, leaving medium and high speed. The medium serves the A/C in place of the low speed.

Info and photo's on that is what I have in mind.

Thanks for advice tho'

It would appear that the bodge for the three speed fan has proved a worthy stopgap, to my knowlage nobody who has done this mod and got the fan to work has reported subsequent failure to date.

You will need to remove the bumper on a facelift but this is only about 15-20 mins on your first attempt.

There is a how to on removing the bumper. there are four thick wires that run from the relay box on the passengerside of the fan motor to the fan motor itself. These are the wires to adapt as per the link in on of the above posts

If you tell us where you are somebody may be close enough to help.

There's quite a lot of postings on the fan motor rewire. This is worth reading: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ight=fan+bodge
