How long would it be safe to leave it running (with the engine off) without it draining a healthy battery?

That does leave you with a totally flat battery, though. |

Golly mine is a toy. 6 330ml cans and it's full. Left all day it does make the cans quite cool.

Brill info. So if I left it on for say, a couple of hours, with a healthy battery, the car would start again

if it is a proper camping fridge it will be able to run on gas/mains/12V
sounds more like a cool box than a fridge, it will keep COLD items cool but will not chill things that are already warm I have two, one is a Halfords one, the other is a bit larger and does work quite well (so long as you put things in that have been in a fridge already) ....I ran the small Halfords one when at shows etc from a socket in the boot.(don't leave it in the boot or all it will do is suck in warm air) ....I would say any more than two hours and you are going to be looking for a jump start, don't forget a cold car will use a lot of power to turn an engine over ...I forgot and left the thing running in the boot for around 4 hours and car would not start...and yes the battery was a good one and had 85 amp hours rating |

have had two coolbox type over the years and my old one would kill the battery in around a hour .
that was a small one . around 6 cans . my new one is a big one but not left it running in the car as yet. so I would not advise you to leave on for long with out the car running . same as a car radio it can soon drop the volts down if left on for to long. one in our c-max will only stay on for a hour if engine is not on. hope this helps steve |
