Yeah I think the base is gonna be costly,as for garage itself,I reckon I could pick a second hand one up in eBay for around £150 being lucky that is.

trouble with concrete is they tend to sweat, condensation plays hell on stored stuff...

Brick / block with a board liner or timber frame are my personal preference..

You need to put a mortar fillet on the inside along the bottom of the panels, then use a mastic or silicone type sealant along the bottom of the door frame.
For the large door I used this - http://www.screwfix.com/p/stormguard...ack-2-5m/37019 Works well but you need to be thorough with the sealant especially around the edges.

You're dead right there, one of my cars sat for 20 years in s wooden garage, and not a trace of rust. After a year in my concrete block garage lots of light rust began to appear

I've not had this problem with my concrete garage, it stays dry very well though this time of year I help it out by using a dehumidifier as any outdoor building without heating will become damp. Our brick built outhouse suffers too.

I shall be moving next year, down sizing and retiring but looking around for a house with a double garage is impossible, don't seem to exist round our way.
