Heated R screen + Radio
Any ideas?? Radio on when the heated rear screen is on and the reception is awful. Turn off rear screen and reception is perfect.
Any ideas?? Please.

I have the same issue.....people wiser than I told me that it was the heated elements that didn't heat up causing the issue. I proved that was correct to myself by taking a battery powered radio outside by the car. With the heated rear window off, reception was perfect, but with the HRW on, the radio lost stereo reception and an unpleasant hiss was evident......
Apparently where the elements are damaged they will arc and cause static interference.

A cheaper option than replacing the rear screen is to fit a roof aerial.
I replaced mine on a tourer and here is a method of fitting a roof aerial to a saloon. It covers a digital aerial but you can get a similar analogue aerial. http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/foru...ght=dab+aerial Dave T |

Had the same problem and discovered there was residue of gum from a sticker on the elements.I cleaned the gum off with a cloth dampened with WD 40 and no more interference.
