royal mail prices and policies
morning all...just going to have a bit of a rant now .
i recently sold a couple of small item on ebay, and i mean small....about 1 inch in diameter, now by the time it was packaged in a padded envelope it was 2.6cm...that's 0.1cm above the normal postage rate of 2.5cm for a large letter, therefore becomes a 'small packet'...the woman behind the counter didn't even try to push it through her little thickness gadget she uses to measure items,i just said to her 'try and get it through then'....i'm sorry it's got to fall through under it's own weight, not forced' ....so a first class stamp now jumps upto £3.30 first class packet, because of a 0.1cm increase in size...yes that is 1mm god damn it...i was fuming. rant over |

If you look at it from another angle
She's saved the recipient from the possibility of getting a small fine (£1 + the difference in postage costs) for underpaid postage. Your "parcel " may have also been delayed, and she may have also saved your ebay feedback from getting a negative. |

My loopy aunt used to send them with no stamp. Twice i had aTwenty mile round trip to collect them as i stayed in a remote area. And to make things worse she put my ex wifes name in it . Last edited by FLYER; 7th March 2016 at 09:52.. |
