1 out of 3 is not good - eating out
As some might have guessed, we are in Pembrokeshire for two weeks with the caravan. My new SWMBO loves cooking, but hates eating out - she can do better. I would not dare argue with that
We stopped for a meal on the way down from expediency, gammon eggs and chips etc.. a place I call once or twice a year and it was its usual great (George Barrow, Devils Bridge). The master cylinder failed last week, towed in, so expediency again - late in the day, we called at a local pub / restaurant for a meal - one I have used before and the past few visits have been poor. This time they took 80 minutes from ordering, to deliver ham, eggs and chips, then lurked around expecting a tip. I had built SWMBO up with tales of the great and massive haddock and chips, with all the trimmings they served in St Davids. I had been there once or twice a year for the past 10 years, with my previous SWMBO. Always enjoyed it, never any cause for complaint. This time, they were served on a tiny plate, the fish was cremated and blackened on the outside, tiny and so thin it was all batter at one end. SWMBO, said it tasted odd and if anything was pollack. She couldn't eat it, I managed to eat some, so what was left most was offered to the two dogs. One wouldn't eat any (very unusual) other did. We complained to two different young waitresses, but neither seemed interested - a £27 bill. That night and evening SWMBO was quite ill, as was the dog which had eaten it and to a lesser extent, me too. The other dog was fine, so I emailed the owners, explained my complaint in detail and invited them to refund my CC. My previous SWMBO was very ill for many years, so we had to eat out quite a lot.

Not good Harry at all, I hope you get some sort of recompense from the, as that certainly falls below standard. If you don't get anywhere, then the likes of trip advisor etc are platforms to unrecommend them.

Harry,Sorry to hear of your bad experience but had I have had to wait the length of time you did on the one occasion and the food was as you described on the second then I would have refused it and sent it back, walked out and refused to pay the bill. But that is me
