A rather geeky question...
Has anyone used any Content Management Software on sites. I am running a webserver using Abyss X1 (free version) and would like to use CMS with it. Any recommendations and how easy is it to set up.
Cheers

I'm running wordpress as a CMS and most CMS's are pretty easy to setup. Most involve creating a mysql database and then entering your settings in a couple of php files. Then your run their installation files and then you need to configure the CMS.
Don't have any experience of Abyss X1 sorry. |

My hosting has a panel for the creating a mysql database which makes it a three step process. Give it a name, and type the password twice.
For most CMS this is all you need to do, as the CMS will format and populate your database for you in the installation. |

For a simple easy way to get going all in one, download Xamp http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html as it is everything you need to get started. If you want help with PHP code, let me know. With the above aside, you need to create a MySQL database and point the CMS installation to it. It will create tables and fields automatically.
