Default 2 din required

Hi all
Looking to replace the stereo in wifeys car , ford explorer which was originally fitted with a 1.5 din and is currently fitted with a single din.
She wants a stereo with sat Nav and reversing camera all built into one unit .
Has anyone got any idea which units are available as I haven't got a clue what I'm looking for.
Budget wise would be around £300 but as cheap as possible
Thanks stan

Were any Explorers fitted with something similar as standard or as a factory option? That's where I'd be looking first.

If you spend under £300 on a Chinese Double Din it's very much pot luck regarding how well/long it will work - as more than a few of us have found out to our cost

Had a quick look around the bay and most seem to be with a separate screen.
Which got me thinking , can I fit a unit from a different manufacturer as long as its double din.
If so what would I need , head unit , sat nav drive , wiring etc.
If anyone could list what I would need it would be great as I really am clueless as to what I need.

Anything is possible with the right patch lead. When I was looking for a new car recently I went to look at a Skoda Octavia Laurin & Klement one and it had a nice self contained double din - the car was 10 years old (and had rusty sills like most other Octavia's I went to look at - but that's another story....) but the double din worked fine and was a pleasure to use. How easy it is to get rid of the manufacturers logo on an OE unit though is a different matter.....

My honest opinion is that you are better off with dedicated larger screen smartphone with a decent mount if the car is bluetooth enabled. You can get a decent Chinese phone for about £120 - and ironically they work properly, I have used them for about 3 years now rather than expensive 'name' ones No it's not as 'bling' but it's more reliable and sat nav map updates are free and frequent.

I know that doesn't solve your reversing camera problem but there might well be 'an app for that'

You then have everything you need, it will work well and it will be well under your budget - it just won't look as bling...
