SD1too, that's good information to have, thanks.

Mine's a 2004 model, but I think it had the resistor replaced early on.
Maybe I've only ever seen my fan running at slow speed? I doubt it's ever reached 112C to trip the high speed. I guess what I've seen is the same fan speed for the A/C and the first overheat trip.

I guess there's some degree of bypass; maybe that's sufficient to moderate the temperature?
Alternatively, maybe the diesel 'stat is prone to sticking open? There does seem to be a regular reporting of this.
