Looking for a near side wing mirror, chrome, bullet type, 03 plate
These mirrors seem to be very expensive, I got a quote from a breaker for £50, is this a good deal?

Or if you have a chrome cover on your old mirror and it isn't damaged (the cover that is) you can just pop it off and change it for whatever colour one is on the replacement mirror. Also note that the later mirrors are the same on a number of other Rovers (e.g. Rover 25 and 45) so you should be able to pick one up cheap enough. I have seen them going for between 15 and 30 quid on ebay. Just need to be sure you get an electric one, assuming your original is electric. Also do a search on here for fixing the old mirror if the mounting has broken as they are not that hard to fix. Mine got broken off by some unmentionable and I fixed it by inserting a bolt through the hollow mount, making spacers to clear the wires.

I think you'll find it's just the later mirror covers that are the same as the 25 etc not the complete assembly |

I'll bow to your greater knowledge there as I have not tried fitting one yet, but they certainly look very similar. Is that for definite? I had been looking at picking up one from a Rover 45 or similar as they generally seem to be cheaper, but it sounds like I may need to reconsider that plan.
