Electoral shenanigans
Is something in the wind? Has anyone else had this?
Just put through my letter box I have a folded two page form headed ‘YOUR VOTE MATTERS – DON’T LOSE IT’. Further down in bold type it says ‘Please note this form is not an electoral registration form - anyone added to those names already printed on it will not be registered'. I filled one of these in last year, so soon again? I don’t suppose a general election has been called already has it? Can’t think why.

The "real" ones are plastered with the local council details and you can do a search to check out the web link.
Sadly, I'm thinking some sort of scam Andy. |

This is all down to the local Council election department. Some send out annually, others less frequently. Nothing sinister in it.

I've no worries about the sender or the legalities, the return address on the postage paid envelope is genuine. What springs to mind is for the last 20 years we have only received these letters if an election is pending and the two descriptions mentioned in post 1 are contradictory. Odd. The next normal election is about 2 years away so this is unexpected and out of the ordinary. Maybe I'm reading too much into it...
