I needed a fasting blood test a while ago, tried to give me an appointment at 12 noon which would mean I couldn't eat anything before about I got home at about 1pm . . . . promptly told where they could ram that idea!
That low energy bulb I stuck in the outside light earlier is now replaced by a LED one. Last edited by stevestrat; 13th November 2019 at 14:03.. |

Temperature has dropped dramatically and we have torrential rain.
Nice chunk of rump steak, chips and mushrooms washed down with a glass or two of Jammy Roo. Sorry Rod but the heating is on.

Here's me thinking the class 43 HST 125 was consigned to the scrap heap as they'd (supposedly) reached end of life I always knew them there Scots were a canny lot & have bought 26 sets which are now being refurbishing and called Inter7city. some sets are now completed. https://www.railmagazine.com/news/ra...hst-train-test
Very good news indeed.

Seen them around up here but what I don't get is why they are running such short sets, four or five carriages, no more capacity than any other unit. 4,500hp for four carriages, overkill to say the least
Drove them occasionally, getting the speedo up to the red line (125mph) was quite a sensation. Last edited by stevestrat; 13th November 2019 at 15:52.. |

My father used to be in the agriculture business, having to go into grain storage sheds etc, he was forever knocking lumps out of his scalp, so much so that when the railway issued hard hats I "acquired" one for him!
