Chav pikey scum
With those, they're bolted into place, then the cap is screwed on, you get an adaptor to allow you to check pressures etc. I suppose the gits could still nick the screw in covers though |

So to fit them the tyre has to come off and the back bit is bolted on ?

I know how you feel GG, I have had my Shiny "FaceLift" Crested Rover dust caps knicked twice, the replacemnt locking ones are a pain, so now I carry a decent set and use Plastic for everyday use, but why should I have to, little Buggers!

I have found these "spinning" anti-theft caps from richbrook work. Got mine from halfords.

Flush fit valves
I use this type on my Rover and my previous cars....
http://www.rochfordtyres.co.uk/produ...eria=&PT_ID=71 They sometimes appear on Ebay, my last set cost £6 for four inc post. The square drive on the end of the valve extension is used to remove the cap. You have to break the outer bead ... about 90 deg either side on the valve get the securing nut on the inner side of the rim. Usually no need to rebalance if you do not break the outer bead all the way round. I used some 'F' clamps to break the bead. Last edited by DeeCee; 9th February 2007 at 13:36.. |
