HI Scott.

The next time you attempt the job pop round and borrow my Irwins

Also the 15mm sis sided socket with 30cm ratchet bar

You can use this as well for the brake hose

Thanks Steve may borrow the spanner, I've ordered a new 15mm 6 sided socket so will wait for that to come.

And of course some dry weather

I'm sure the amount of off road vehicles on the road these days is due to the condition road surfaces. An ordinary car can't cope with the rough terrain !

Hi Forrestt
You had the right size of torx so I wonder why it would not fit, try a 27 tors these are the extra long ones below.

But best of the bunch are these without a doubt.

Perhaps the type used were something like these?

Where the shoulder of the bit holder prevents the bit from engaging with the screw head

Brian yes they are never going to fit, ok for use in confined places though, you can never have enough tools, just when you think you up crops a problem and you need to get one

After swapping the wheels for some Unions last night and the car now driving brilliant , I checked the 18 inch tyre's this morning and you're right , they had extra load on all 4 sidewalls. I've chucked them in my garage whilst I decide whether to keep them or sell them .

They are in very good condition having been refurbed by a previous owner and they even have Rover centre caps and recent but budget tyres .Taking to a mate today about them he agrees that I should sell as I'm unlikely to refit them but they do look nice on the car. With the Unions on she just looks like any other 75 . We'll see how I feel now that I know the issue with the tyres.
