Read this morning that Volvo has just stated that an electric vehicle needs to travel 50,000 miles before it becomes more environmentally friendly. Given my low mileage (33,00 in 11 years in my 75 Tourer), I'd better not buy one at my age!

Not even to take it out of the box? No wonder it’s lasted that long....

John-I will start with your last 2, 1. Yes I was and so were a lot of others- I can remember. 2. Yes and my wisdom did increase with age. Wise after the event. No I was was wise before the event, enquiry and investigation, we all do it but dont realise it and Most? Many? Some? people were aware of the many problems. First point. He is journalist and after some years of nature type programmes discovered a way of presenting it in a catchy manner - he is not the messiah just a voice over, a talking head, and what is most reprehensible he uses terror/doom and aims it at children. Wee bit like the British Empire.-----( What a rotten lot we were. )

Back in his early days that was the way it was. Hindsight is such a wonderful thing. Pity we are not born with it.---

QUOTE: I was an avid reader of his Zoo Quest books when I was a lad.

The line of yours that I quoted really says it all.

We all, then, ( at that time ) probably saw no wrong in it.----

I see his 'enlightened' attempts as trying to put right something that in modern times now appears appalling.------Don't really understand the bit in your post about a guilt trip though.

Unless of course that you see us all on guilt trips when we try to right a wrong we have inadvertently done.

Like saying to the missus your bum looks fat in that darling.-------Now THAT could cost a fortune to put right.-----Lol.

I note that one of the California Governors wants the California wildfires to be named 'climate fires'. This is despite mounting evidence of forest mismanagement coupled with many fires which have been started by arsonists.
