Default My new diesel auto project car

Hi people after having a chat regarding getting pictures onto here I have decided to post a thread regarding my new diesel auto project car.

I had a mondeo diesel which disgraced itself and I had a 2.7 diesel s type jaguar but I really haven't gotten on with it.
I have subsequently given it to my father as he really likes it.

I was then using my dads vauxhall astra diesel to get to work and back and I was looking at alot of other cars but I kept getting drawn back to the 75.

Now I will admit I am not a fan of the diesel engine in these cars much preferring the v6 but for work this will do and being an auto with cruise should be a nice way to get to and from work.

I bought it cheap knowing it had issues so I have gone in with my eyes wide open.

The first major issue is the hole in the front drivers sill. I have bought a set of repair panels for it I just need to get it seen at a body shop.

The next issue was the front part of the cabin was soaked.
Well we took out the carpet and seats and dried it out and also sorted the leak which was the drivers side drain hole going through the bulkhead.

My dad had a look at the rear brakes and found they needed changing but we had a set of new discs and pads from previous 75s that we never fitted.

We needed to renew the backing plate and also a handbrake cable aswell.

The abs light Is on and we have changed the sensors on the front as the diagnostic system told us it was that. It still lights up but we havent driven it yet so maybe moving the car will cure that.

The airbag light is on aswell but we are hoping it was the sensors which we have dried out. Once the seats are back in we will check again.

The car came with an intravee setup aswell so I will probably buy an old ipod to use this for my music.
Anyway some pictures.

Thanks Thomas

Thomas,

You didn't say that it's white (or should I say double cream ) with Crown wheels and an aubergine interior!

I thought I recognised the reg number. I was watching this on Ebay last December when it was on a SORN ( not that I had anywhere to park it ! ) but I always wanted a white diesel auto with the aubergine leather for the wife. I just had a feeling the interior would smell like a wet Alsatian's kennel from the description. I'm so pleased it has a good home within the club.

Well done Thomas.

PS I still have a picture of the car on my phone as I kept checking to see if it got MOT'd rather than broken !
