Steve,

The add-on link is in my first post in the linked thread. Note that after a bit of playing Dave's pic is unchained and can be saved to the desktop 100% post 5.

Regards,

Mike

Default Auto Transmission Fluid

Well nearly a month later after the bump up, and over 12 months since i was going to do the fluid change reminder this must get done before end of the month Oct 20.

I have been busy sorting out all the fluids on the FL2 engine oil, gearbox, IRD, Diff, and the Haldex still to do, before i get to the R40

Give us an update on the Haldex oil and filter change Steve - they were an improvement on the Freelander 1 viscous unit but some have oil contamination problems and will be good to see how yours looks.

Last time I removed the IRD gearbox drain plug on our old Freelander 1 no oil came out...........There was plenty in there but all the shards of metal were blocking the hole!

Default Oil-cooler-to-auto-trans hose diameter?

I'm planning to carry out the ATF flush & change. Does anyone know the outer diameter of the stud on the oil cooler shown in the photos below? That's obviously another way of asking for the inner diameter of the clear plastic hose used to drain the ATF. I'd like to come to the job prepared with the correct size drain hose. Thanks.

Hi Dougie,

Sorry for the delay but I'm under a V6 at the moment so have been able to take the measurements you wanted.

The ringed metal pipe (second photo) is 12.5 mm diameter.
The silver sleeve on the fluid hose is 19.5 mm diameter.

I hope this helps.

Simon

You're a bl00dy star Simon. I never envisaged someone actually measuring it especially in all this weather!! Thank you.

Dougie.

Simon, I'm assuming the 12.5mm was the external diameter of the pipe (what I called the stub) attached to the oil cooler?

Dougie.
